TYA: Teachers for Youth Ambassadors – Growing Together as European Citizens
We have launched a new international partnership between five schools and a university from six
European countries to create a network of Jean Monnet schools. Our project TYA: Teachers
for Youth Ambassadors, which we designed and wrote, aims to strengthen the role of teachers and
offer young people tools to be more aware and active European citizens. Now
Now we are waiting for the outcome of the evaluation... but here is a preview of the pathway we hope to
realise!
The three phases of the project
Teacher training
In-depth study on active European citizenship to provide
tools and skills to guide their students on the path to democratic participation
democratic participation.
Student Path
An online course with international co-teaching sessions,
culminating in the drafting of a petition on the key issues of their generation.
Brussels: Protagonists in Europe
Journey of students and teachers to present the
petition to the EU institutions, followed by a dissemination plan to share the experience at
local and European level.
With TYA, we want to create a network of motivated teachers and support young people in becoming
more aware, responsible and future-oriented European citizens. Stay tuned for
updates!
